DOS-RAS EXTREME – Race around Slovenia

(May)

DOS-RAS EXTREME is an ultra-marathon cycling spectacle with a rich programme of accompanying events that starts and ends in Postojna.

The course is 1,250 km long and passes through 205 localities around Slovenia, visiting a total of 86 municipalities.

Starting in Postojna, this marathon test of endurance sees the participating cyclists ride through the Pivka Basin and across the Brkini hill region to the coast. They then continue through the Goriška region and the Bovec district towards the mountainous Gorenjska region.

After the steep climb over the Vršič pass, they set off towards the other end of Slovenia, passing through the Koroška, Štajerska and Prekmurje before heading into Dolenjska and Bela Krajina and on to the finish in Postojna, where they started.
