Bear watching

Did you know… that more than half of Slovenia is covered by forest and the country is home to one of the largest brown bear populations in Europe?
Accompanied by a guide, you can now watch the brown bear (Ursus arctos), an animal that fills with admiration and respect, in its natural environment.

An experienced hunter will take you on a forest adventure, where you will discover the habitat of the largest carnivore in Slovenia's forests – the brown bear – and other forest creatures.

An off-road vehicle will carry you into the vast forests in the afternoon. Bear watching takes place from a suitable hide that holds up to 5 people. Watching lasts between 2 and 3 hours. Warm, noiseless clothing recommended.

Bear watching, observing other forest creatures and photo-safaris are available from 1 May to 30 October. Booking essential.
