We are proud to introduce a collection of souvenirs featuring the Postojna tourism brand. Created in collaboration with the well-known illustrator Polona Pačnik, who also created the brand, the collection is based around four motifs associated with our region:

- the terrible dragon which the shepherd boy Jakob defeated by means of a trick;
- the proteus or olm, popularly known as the "human fish" and once believed to be a baby dragon
- Erasmus of Predjama; and his Predjama Castle, in which the bold knight held out against his besiegers for more than a year.

These distinctive motifs based on local legends are available on T-shirts, rucksacks, bags, magnets, notebooks and other handy souvenirs.

You can buy them at the TIC Galerija tourist information centre (Trg padlih borcev 5, Postojna) in the town centre and at the Notranjska Museum Postojna (Kolodvorska cesta 3, Postojna).

Collection of souvenirs from local arts centre Lokalc

You can also find a wide range of products from local arts centre Lokalc, ranging from embroidered bags to hand-made dolls, durable purses made from recycled materials, useful items of pottery, special soaps, wooden jewellery, illustrations, items made of felt, and other wonderful works of art.

It takes innovativeness and years of training to create new and interesting products that are also contemporary – or sometimes just willpower and the experience provided by a rich tradition. None of this would be possible without the support of the local environment for local artists, whose new creations preserve old knowledge and skills and in this way help to build and develop our common local identity.

Lokalc therefore invites you to support the efforts of our local artists by buying local products.
