Burghers’ Promenade
Postojna is a town today, but this wasn't always the case. It received town privileges in 1909,
during the Austro-Hungarian period. It was also around that time when Postojna Cave placed
the town on the map, with the resulting infrastructure development and first grand buildings
beginning to transform it into the town it is today. Its urban side experienced both highs and
lows under Italian governance following World War I.
