Planinska Gora lies at the eastern end of the Hrušica plateau. The starting point for this hike is in Planina (by St Margaret's Church).
The route follows a cart track across meadows and through forest and along a panoramic stone road with numerous wayside shrines set up by pilgrims.
A church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, built in 1657, stands by the road. To the west of the church, a road leads up to the peak of the mountain, indicated by a stone table.
In the part of the year when the trees are still bare, the view from the summit takes in the Javorniki, Slivnica and the whole of Planinsko Polje.
The hike up the mountain takes approximately 1 hour, depending on how fast you walk.
A part of the fortification system Alpine Wall is passing through the Planina Mountain. It was built by ltalians after the World War l to protect the new Rapallo border. Planina Mountain preserved several bunkers and caverns from that time.
