Nature trekking

Did you know that the Javorniki–Snežnik massif, together with the Gorski Kotar mountain region in Croatia, represents the largest complex of uninterrupted forest in central Europe?  Two treks are available in these forests, offering you the opportunity to relax and enjoy contact with unspoilt nature:

"On the hunter's paths" is aimed at the moderately active and has a duration of 3 to 4 hours. Demanding in places, this trek is 8.5 km long.

"On the trail of the brown bear" is suitable for the very active, since this partly demanding trek has a duration of 6 to 7 hours and covers a distance of 15 km.

During the trek you will discover the heart of the vast Dinaric forests that are home to numerous woodland creatures. Guided treks through the extensive forests take place in the morning or early afternoon, using off-road vehicles. The climb up to the highest points offers a wonderful view over intermittent lakes and as far as the Alps. The trek includes a stop for a snack along the way and lunch at organic farm/farm stay Smrekarjeva domačija. We recommend hiking clothing and footwear, walking poles and refreshments. Guided treks are available throughout the year. Booking essential.
