Postojna Cave offers shelter to more than 150 animal species. 

You can see a small part of the characteristic fauna that has developed in the extreme conditions of the underground world by visiting the Vivarium, which contains a presentation of a variety of specimens of cave life. 

The most famous cave-dwelling creature – the "human fish" or olm (Proteus anguinus) – always attracts particular attention. This part of the cave also houses a speleobiological laboratory where scientific research is carried out. 

We recommend a visit to everyone who wants to find out more about life underground.
