Smrekarjeva Domačija is a farm located in the little village of Grobišče, just 4 km from Postojna, and has been fulfilling its mission of bringing people together for more than a century.
Enjoy a good home-cooked lunch or birthday party in the renovated barn. The barn can also be used for business meetings and promotional events. Cultural events at the farm are free of charge and open to the general public.
Guests can enjoy local cold cuts and dishes made with the organically farmed beef of the native Cika cattle, various cheeses, quail's eggs, bread from the bread oven and of course good wine.
As well as great food and facilities for organising events, the farm offers overnight accommodation. The individual rooms are named after old members of the family and feature attractive spruce furniture. One of the ground-floor rooms is adapted for guests with reduced mobility. An apartment sleeping up to 6 guests is also available.
The farm switched to organic farming several years ago and grows cereals, vegetables and various types of fruit on 22 hectares of land. Its barns and pastures are home to Istrian donkeys, pigs of the native Krškopoljski breed and Cika cattle. Everything grown or reared on the farm is used in the kitchen at Smrekarjeva Domačija.
